Core Connections Companion
The Core Connections Companion is where Campfire brings everything together.
While each unit has a primary focus, the Core Connections Companion ensures that all core subjects (except math) are intentionally covered each day. For example, if a unit is history-heavy (like History’s Mysteries), the Core Connections Companion provides your daily science, language arts, or additional core subjects.
This allows families to cover core subjects in an interdisciplinary, cross-curricular way—an approach long valued in classical education, highly respected universities, and Charlotte Mason-inspired education.

A note about older units
Some of our earlier units include what we call “adjustable” Core Connections.
These were created during a season when Campfire was designed primarily for enrichment and flexible use alongside other curricula. Because of that, adjustable Core Connections allow families more freedom in how subjects are combined and scheduled, and may vary in structure from unit to unit.
Over time, Campfire has intentionally grown into a more fully integrated, all-in-one curriculum. Our newer Core Connections Companions reflect this, offering more consistent structure while still preserving flexibility and depth.
Geography units
Our Geography series does not include a separate Core Connections Companion, and this is intentional.
These units include enough depth and structure within the learning extensions of the main guidebook that families can easily use them as an all-in-one curriculum if desired, without needing a separate companion.
