This is unlike ANY other Titanic book, unit study, curriculum, movie, or museum out there. You may think you know the story of April 14th, 1912, but just like those who first stepped onto this grand ship in England, your voyage is only beginning. Settle in to your stateroom, savor the fine meals of first class dining, tap your foot to an Irish tune in steerage, and keep a lookout for ice from the crow’s nest. ALL ABOARD for your trip on….the Titanic!  Whether you’re passionate about Titanic or know nothing about it, this is the unit of ALL units. As cliche as that sounds, you guys know we mean it because we have never made a claim like that before.

This is the one that can take your “history hater” and turn them into wanting to become a historian. It’s one that will bring your entire family together, while sparking the richest discussions about ethics, critical thinking, morals, and TRUTH. It’s one that “Dad” will love to lead! It has a living story that is captivating; it has interactive teaching; it has a board game included (we thought that was more fun than a quiz); it has food with input from chefs; it has experiential learning; it has real quotes from real survivors… and it’s basically no prep and open-and-go. It is Titanic, Campfire style!

This is the unit that teaches your family the importance of deciphering between truth, untruth, and half-truth. It’s the unit that teaches empathy. This unit guides your family through the process of drawing that line separating fact and fiction, just as a historian would. Even in today’s world, we must know how to determine whether to trust what we hear, or challenge its credibility…..all while carrying you back into the early 1900’s, allowing you to practically feel the cold night air along with the people who were on the majestic Titanic.

It is jam-packed with social studies, geography, and history—from the Potato Famine to immigration and Irish history… and of course the history of one of the most well-known nights in the world. It is just as full of science, as you go from learning about the science of the mind and witness testimony to buoyancy and water displacement, to photo mosaics (NASA style). You will even be creating your own icebergs, ships, and more… all with items from around the house!

You’re wearing your best dinner jacket…. the string quartet is filling the evening air with chords…. the Atlantic is flat calm…. the crew is busying about…. come join us on…. the Titanic.
